I installed 2 of my gro lights so far. These are mainly for the winter months to compensate for lack of sunlight during that time. They are Mars 300 I believe. I bought them to use when I was growing by seed.

So this is where most of my plants ended up after the dust devil took down the big greenhouse. I am still organizing the plants but for now this will work. The 1st pic is of the 3 gal, 1 gal, 5.5", 3.5" and 2.5" pots. The 2nd pic is 3.25" Trichocereus pups. The last pic is of the small greenhouse.

We had a dust devil hit us and the results were not pretty. It came in lengthwise on the greenhouse and slowly lifted it out of the ground and turned the entire thing over on its back. Most of the purlins were seriously bent but the bows are fine. I'm going to put it back up later this summer.

I decided to try growing Epi's this year. The flowers are just as nice as the other hybrids I have. So I bought 28 different varieties and cut the leaves in to 3-4 pieces each. Some of the leaves are wrinkling pretty badly but they almost all have new growth so I am encouraged.

This is the large house and the offsets are quickly filling it up!

There were some nice blooms today.

On the left are my stock 5.5" Trichocereus. At the end of the bench are my 5.5" and 1 Gal cuts. The 2nd bench are seedligs that are growing out. I also have Hildewintera and Lobivia on that bench. The 3rd bench are my Trichocereus pups with some 5.5" stock Echinopsis. The table at the rear is full of 3 Gal and 5 Gal cuts. Finally the last bench is all 5.5" Echinopsis.

This is my 1st mega-bloom of 2024.

I'm putting my 3 Gal and 1 Gal stock plants in the large house. I also have the seedlings I am growing in here as well as what is available for sale. The smaller house is now basically my production house.

The 2nd cold frame is up now. I have a few adjustments to do before its ready.

I have 2 cold frames, one is 16' x 24' and the other is 16' x 36'. The 16' x 24' is attached to a 300 sqft shop. I use the shop area as a shaded growing space. I keep my offsets in there as well as other plants that don't do well in the sun. And that is also where I do all my potting up.

The 16' x 36' has not been put up yet but I hope to set that up early this year.

I have always looked forard to the day when I would have mega blooms in the greenhouse. And in 2023 it finally happened. I think I had about 3 mega blooms in 2023. The largest was 57 plants in one day.

I have always resisted the urge to cut my cactus. I just didn't like the look of a cut plant. I did have the occasional plant that would snap for one reason or the other so I always had a few cuts in my collection. But I also realized that cutting is the fastest way to get new plants. So in 2023 I decided to cut about 40 plants, mostly Trichocereus. They all are doing well and producing pups.
